How to use CVS in netbeans 7.1.2

You might be wondering how to use CVS or do CVS checkout or CVS update in case of Netbeans new version 7.1.2
No need to worry, Netbeans has just moved CVS support from the standard distribution of the IDE to the Update Center.

Now lets look at how we can use the CVS update or CVS checkout in Netbeans 7.1.2

From 7.1 RC1 onwards as Netbeans moved CVS support from standard distribution of the IDE to the update center. We need to download and install a plugin using the IDE's Update Center.

How to Download and Install Plugin for CVS support for Netbeans?

Now lets see step by step how we can install CVS plugin and use it

1. Go to tools and plugins.
2. In the Available plugins tab you can find the CVS plugin from the list of available plugins as shown in the image 1 below.
3. Select CVS option and click on Install.
4. It will open Install CVS duialog, this Install CVS dialog box will prompt you to agree to the terms of the Common Development and Distribution License (CDDL) - v 1.0.
5. Proceed with installation using Next button.
6. If we decline to install the CVS plugin, the dialog box pops up next time when restart the Netbeans IDE until we sat Do not ask again.
7. If you have installed CVS plugin now you can see the CVS option in Team Menu and you can do checkout using Team > CVS > Checkout
8. If we want to import unversioned project into CVS , then you can use two ways one is to select project and from right click menu of Versioning > Import into CVS Repository and the other way is just do Team >> CVS >> Import into repository.
