ProGuard :

ProGuard is a free Java class file shrinker and obfuscator.

Features :
Along with normal java applications such as J2SE ProGuard also supports J2ME version.
ProGuard detects and remove unused classes, fields methods and attributes then it renames the remaining classes, fields and methods using some meaningless short names. It makes the jar size smaller and it becomes very hard for engineer to reversing of it.

ProGuard comes under the GPL license (version 2 or later) releases.

JavaGuard

JavaGuard is a general purpose bytecode obfuscator. Obfuscating java programs using javaguard is simple and it strictly secure against decompilation and other forms of reverse engineering. JavaGuard is OS independant and come under license of GNU Library or Lesser General Public License (LGPL).

The RetroGuard bytecode obfuscator :

The RetroGuard bytecode obfuscator is also type of obfuscator which minimizes the amount of information which is exposed from source code. It makes hard to reverse engineer it. This makes class size smaller which results in faster download of java applets and applications.

jarg :

Jarg also reduces the names of the classes , methods etc which results in quick operations as seen earlier. Also since classes gets renamed it make harder to analyse and decompile.
